The P5 alternate action switch matches the P1, P3 and P8 momentary action push button models for mixed functionality with a common panel appearance. Now you can design panels with alternate and momentary action switches and have a unified panel appearance. The P5 features alternate action in the same push button and housing configuration as the momentary P1 and P3, and as a bonus, the P5 requires less panel space than the P1 and P3 momentary versions.
Press and the P5 switch will turn "ON". Press again and the P5 switch will turn "OFF". There is positive tactile feedback so the operator knows clearly that the switch mode has been executed. The button will return to the original position after each actuation.
To protect the front panel from splash and dirt, the P5 series is sealed at the button using OTTO's patented "rolling sleeve" principle. The terminals are sealed with epoxy resin, providing a seal against flux dirt and moisture during the wiring process and behind the panel. The sealing combination operates smoothly over a wide temperature range. IP68S waterproof sealing is available.
The P5-V Series is available in vandal-resistant styles. Custom housings, shrouded buttons, contact configurations and materials are available to meet your application requirements. We also offer custom button engraving with epoxy ink backfill, waterproof versions and other special features.
