l Combined with mirror column UMC, multi-faceted protection can be easily achieved
Integrated shielding function ensures easy installation of entry and exit protection on transmission lines
Practical swivel and clamping bracket for quick installation and alignment
Highlights
Providing efficient solutions for various detection ranges
The transceiver system consists of an active transmitter/receiver and a passive deflecting mirror without electrical connection. An economical solution with low installation costs.
The transmitter-receiver system consists of a separate transmitter and receiver for applications with a detection range of up to 70 m. It can be supplemented with deflecting mirrors for multi-sided protection.
Simple and trouble-free configuration
All settings on the device can be configured and parameterized via pin assignment. This saves time and costs during commissioning and ensures faultless configuration. Devices can be easily exchanged via plug and play without the need for reconfiguration.
Quick and easy calibration
The MLD can be easily aligned using the practical swivel and clamping bracket. The integrated alignment laser allows for simple and fast alignment even over long distances and with multi-sided protection.
Clearly visible device status
The integrated multi-color indicator makes it easy to read the status of the OSSD outputs at any time. A reset request is also displayed if necessary.
Standalone installation
The multiple light beam safety devices MLD can be easily mounted individually with the device columns DC and UDC. Special brackets ensure simple installation and quick adjustment of the device.
The mirror column UMC ensures structurally simple and reliable access protection on all sides.
A spring element at the base of the column absorbs mechanical shocks and automatically returns the column to its original position. No calibration or maintenance work is required.
Quick installation using pre-configured kits
SET-AC
With its pre-assembled and ready-to-use design, the muting sensor set Set-AC ensures fast and trouble-free commissioning. It works in conjunction with the multiple light beam safety device MLD. Simply fasten to the side of the device column UDC or directly to the MLD device.
MLDSET
The MLDSET safety light grid set offers a complete access protection solution with muting function. The pre-assembled kit ensures efficient assembly and fast commissioning thanks to the ready-to-use design with plug-in connection.
application
Entrance and exit protection
Require:
Protect the entrances and exits to hazardous areas on machines or equipment. Photoelectric safety sensors should be used to achieve simple feeding and unloading.
solution:
The MLD 300/500 multiple light beam safety devices offer a cost-effective solution for access protection. The transceiver versions have a detection range of up to 8 m and are easy to install. Various transmitter/receiver versions provide protection with a detection range of up to 70 m.
Multi-side entrance and exit protection
Require:
When the machine is running, the entrances and exits to the working area must be protected. In order to facilitate feeding and retrieving materials, the machine must be easily accessible from multiple directions.
solution:
The MLD 300/500 multiple light beam safety device in combination with the UMC mirror column protects the access to and from machines from multiple sides and at a distance of up to 70 m. Installation is quick and easy thanks to the integrated laser alignment aid.
Entrance and exit protection on the conveying route, using shielding function
Require:
Entrance and exit protection on conveyor routes prevents personnel from entering hazardous areas while allowing goods to pass through.
solution:
The muting function bridges the safety sensors in a controlled manner to allow the conveyed goods to pass. Various muting functions are already integrated in the MLD multiple light beam safety devices: 2-sensor muting, timing control and sequence control (MLD x30/MLD x35) and 4 muting sensors, timing control (MLC x35)
Leuze is an international sensor specialist in automation technology. With their curiosity and determination, our sensor experts have been innovating and setting milestones in industrial automation technology for more than 60 years.
Founded in 1963, Leuze is headquartered in Owen/Teck in southern Germany. Today, more than 1,200 sensor experts from Leuze's 6 production bases and 21 sales subsidiaries, with rich experience and firm commitment, and with the full support of more than 40 international distributors, ensure that customers can achieve long-term success in the ever-changing market.
Leuze development history:
1963 The innovative history of Leuze begins with the founding of the Leuze Textile weaving factory in Owen/Teck in 1963. There, six people develop the first Leuze electronic sensors.
In the 1960s, the smallest reflection probe RK 06/1 was developed and entered the printing industry.
The first Leuze photoelectric retro-reflective sensor RK18 was developed in the 1970s for use under the most adverse environmental conditions, for example in brickworks or the timber industry.
For the first time, the pulling cables in warehouse logistics are replaced by contactless data transmission. This is when the first data transmission light barrier is born: the Leuze DDLS 78.
The development of the first retro-reflective photoelectric sensor PRK 72 with a contactless reflective head in the 1980s enabled Leuze to enter the packaging industry and soon also the beverage filling sector.
Leuze develops polarization filters for distinguishing transparent objects. Leuze transfers this expertise to other applications such as labeling machines, for which it develops the first label recognition fork, the GS 5.
An important milestone was the development of the SLS 89, the first safety light grid for access protection. It was with this product that Leuze began to develop into a specialist for safety products and services.
In the 1990s, Leuze first developed a laser scanner based on the triangulation principle. The RS 2 was born. The first barcode positioning system BCL 21 and the smallest industrial barcode reader BCL 8 were also born. Based on its safety and protection expertise, Leuze developed the SRK 96, the first safety reflective light grid from Leuze that can be used for access protection with only one-sided wiring.
In the early 21st century, Leuze further strengthened its safety products and protection expertise and developed the first TOF laser scanner RS 4, which is available in measurement and safety models. Leuze also created the AS-Interface communication protocol and became a founding member of the user organization and the IO-Link Alliance.
This is followed by another first in the field of fork sensors: The GSU 14 is the fastest and most accurate fork sensor for label recognition from Leuze. It also uses a completely new detection principle: ultrasound.
2010s The BCL 300i sets a further technological milestone as the first barcode reader that does not require an additional gateway, while the CML 700i is the fastest-responding light curtain from Leuze.
The further development of the Leuze RS 4 safety and protection product is the RSL 400 safety laser scanner, which features the largest detection range, two independent protective functions: It is available in different versions and can be networked using Profinet.
Smart process gating is based on our MLC 530 safety light curtains and enables innovative access protection for conveyor paths without muting sensors.
2020s With the DRT 25C based on new reference technology and the comparative adaptive teach-in CAT, Leuze creates a completely new operating principle in the field of switch sensors.
For labelling machines, Leuze combines the two detection principles of light and ultrasound in one compact sensor. With the GSXU 14E combined fork sensor, it was the first photoelectric fork sensor and later became the first ultrasonic fork sensor.
