With more than 100 employees at six locations worldwide, our Research and Development (R&D) department continuously transforms new ideas into marketable products. These are the stimuli and products that form the basis for the Schmersal Group's innovative leadership in the market.
The R&D department is divided into three areas of expertise: mechanical , electronic and Test Engineering
In addition to the central R&D department at the headquarters in Wuppertal, the Schmersal Group has five R&D sites (Wittenberg, Mühldorf, Bergisch Gladbach, Boituwa/Brazil and Shanghai/China). All these sites use the same databases, tools and organizational structures. In this way, we ensure that the existing competences are optimally utilized in every development project for the benefit of our customers.
Structured development
The development of each product follows the clear structure of modern innovation and project management: from the initial idea to the technical implementation, to the manufacture of samples and the associated production and testing systems.
In order to certify new products according to harmonized standards and directives, Schmersal cooperates with responsible committees and accredited certification bodies. Thanks to the DakkS accreditation, the test laboratory can carry out many tests itself, thus significantly reducing the time required to bring a product to market.
